Gadsden Police are investigating a reported armed robbery on Sunday.
At around 11:10 pm, a 31-year old Hispanic male told police he was robbed at gunpoint inside his Forrest River Apartment.
The victim said two black males, with masks over their faces, forced entry into his apartment through a window, came into the back bedroom where he and his family were, grabbed one of his small children and told him they would take her if he didn’t give them all of his money.
The victim gave the men $500 in cash and one of the suspects struck the victim on the forehead with a handgun before both men fled the scene.
A witness told police she was outside smoking when she heard children crying and saw the two suspects running away from the residence.
She said both men were wearing dark colored pants, light colored shirts and had something covering their faces.

Gadsden Police are investigating a reported robbery at a residence on Nola Street.
On Sunday, at around 6:00 pm, a 25-year old man told police he was walking up Noccalula Road, headed to his home, when two acquaintances drove up beside him and asked if he needed a ride.
They took the man home and then asked to use his bathroom.
Once inside, one of the men held a box cutter to the victim’s throat and demanded money.
The victim told them he didn’t have any money.
The other suspect took a knife from the victim’s kitchen and threatened him with it.
He said both the suspects punched him and stole $166 cash, $40 worth of cologne, an Android cell phone & a 36 inch flat screen TV before fleeing the scene.
The reporting officer said he did not see any obvious signs of injury on the victim.

A man reported to police that he was robbed in Walnut Park in Gadsden over the weekend.
According to reports, the 40-year old victim told police on Sunday that he was riding in a vehicle on Sudie Avenue near Clark Street when he saw a friend at an unknown address and stopped to hang out for a while.
He said a little while later, another man arrived and became confrontational.
He said the man apparently confused him with someone else and punched him in the face, knocking him out.
The victim said when he regained consciousness the suspect was going through his pockets.
He said the man stole $300 in cash and his Apple I-Phone and left the scene.
The victim said he decided to go to another friend’s house in Attalla but, on the way, noticed the pain in his jaw was getting worse.
He went to Gadsden Regional and discovered his jaw was broken in two places.
The victim then called police and said he wanted to press charges.

Gadsden Police are investigating reported robberies Saturday at Dollar General at 1407 South 11th Street and at Wal Mart in East Gadsden.
At around 8:55 pm, the clerk at Dollar General said she was waiting on customers when two males, one white, the other black, wearing black masks and armed with handguns entered the store and walked into the manager’s office.
She said she heard one of the men tell the other to “Get the money and go!”
The men fled the store with three envelopes containing the stores daily paperwork.
No one was injured.
Then at around around 10:45 pm, loss prevention officers at Wal-Mart told police employees there attempted to stop a 17-year old female that they observed stealing cough syrup outside the store.
When employees confronted the suspect she punched one of the employees in the face and ran.
Witnesses were able to identify the suspect.

A Sunday shooting incident in Gadsden remains under investigation.
At around 3:30 pm, a 42-year old man told police an acquaintance shot up his van and threatened to kill him.
The victim said the suspect, who claims the victim owes him money, called the victim and asked where he was.
The victim told the man he was currently at an address on Avenue A.
He said a short time later the suspect pulled up, got out of his car with a revolver and shot the windows out of the victims van.
He then went back to his car, got another handgun and shot the van some more.
He pointed the gun at the victim and tried to shoot but the gun malfunctioned.
He told the victim he was lucky the gun wouldn’t fire again or he would have killed him.
The suspect then fled the scene.

Gadsden Police are looking for a possible firebug.
On Saturday at around 2:30 am, a 60 year old woman told police someone set her residence in the1500 block of Alabama Avenue on fire.
The woman said she woke up and could smell gasoline. She walked outside her residence and noticed a small portion of the house was on fire.
She called the fire department and they put the small fire out.
It appeared that the offender attempted to start a fire in several different locations around the residence.
The investigation is ongoing.
