Rome Man Facing Multiple Charges After Sunday Wreck

FCSO - Davis - Accident - 06-04-2013A Rome resident racked up a number of charges, after he crashed his truck into a pole on Shorter Avenue over the weekend.

40 year old Michael Wayne Davis was placed under arrest Sunday, and was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol following the incident.

Police said he refused a sobriety test, and they later found both meth and marijuana in his socks – along with a pill bottle, containing three different types of drugs. Officers ended up charging him with a total of 22 felony counts – including 16 counts of the possession of Schedule II controlled substances, five counts of possession of drugs within the guard line, and one count of possession of methamphetamine.

He also faces numerous misdemeanors including possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, DUI test refusal, striking a fixed object, failure to maintain lane and having an expired license.

Reports said Davis had been weaving in and out of traffic before the wreck.
