A Floyd County Magistrate Court judge has ordered the arrest of a contractor accused of taking $30,000 in equipment from a Rome bakery.
32-year old James Donald Sides Jr. is facing charges of theft by taking and theft by deception.
According to the owner of the business and Rome Police, Sides was hired to move the equipment to the bakery’s new location.
Instead, he allegedly moved it to a warehouse and sold some of it as scrap.
Despite the alleged theft, the bakery is still scheduled to reopen in its new location within two weeks.
Sides was jailed Friday and is awaiting a bond hearing.
