Saturday Morning Accident on the Bypass Injures Three

A total of three people were hurt in a two vehicle accident occurring last Saturday morning (May 25th) on the Centre Bypass at the intersection with Alexis Road.

According to the accident report from the Centre Police Department the crash, which took place at 11:50am, involved a 2004 GMC Envoy being driven by 19 year old Caleb King from McCalla Alabama and a 1997 Chrysler Voyager being driven by 48 year old Lonitta Irvin of Cave Spring, Georgia.

The impact reportedly caused the Voyager to flip three times before coming to rest in a ditch.

The driver, Irvin, along with two passengers – 53 year old Sandra Manning, also of Cave Spring, and 51 year old Susan Johnson of Waterloo, South Carolina – were all transported to Cherokee Medical Center for treatment; King, meanwhile, escaped injury.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
