An accident involving a tractor trailer closed down a stretch of Highway 411 for several hours on Monday.
The mishap occurred at around 11:55am, about a half-mile past the bypass when the driver of the rig ran the 2012 Volvo onto the soft shoulder of the road and lost control.
The 18-wheeler overturned and came to rest on its side, blocking both lanes of traffic.
Fortunately the driver, 55 year old Casey Wallace of Cartersville, Georgia escaped serious injury and no other vehicles were involved.
The truck tag indicated that the vehicle was out of Mississippi.
It took several hours to clear the debris, and remove the truck from the highway – and during that time motorists had to take County Road 22 to County Road 69 or County Road 31 – to get in and out of town.
