A number of Cherokee Electric Co-op customers were without power when they woke up Sunday morning.
According to Sarah Bright with Cherokee Electric, a lightning arrestor went out at the Leesburg Substation at around 5 a.m.
Areas affected by the outage included Leesburg, Tucker’s Chapel, Pollard’s Bend and County Road 70 near Cherokee Rock Village.
According to Bright, the necessary repairs were made and power was back on just after 7:30 Sunday morning.
