A Flash Flood Watch continues for portions of Central, East Central and Northeast Alabama until 4 p.m. The watch area includes Cherokee, Calhoun and Etowah Counties.
Prior heavy rainfall across eastern Alabama has saturated the ground. Any additional heavy rain that develops in the watch area may quickly lead to flash flooding.
We have a 70-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Sunday.
Meanwhile in Georgia, a Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Eastern Chattooga County and Northeastern Floyd County until 2:30 p.m.
Rainfall amounts of up to 2 inches have already fallen in the Taylor’s Ridge area and more is expected.
