Cedar Bluff resident Justin Lee Long has been indicted by a Chattooga County Grand Jury on the charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, giving false information to officers, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to the Summerville News Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader has stated (quote) “there’s no doubt he killed him” (end-quote), when referring to Long’s actions, in the death of 41 year old John England III back on January 15th (2013).
Long stands accused of shooting England with a .22 caliber pistol around the upper stomach and lower chest area; England died from the wounds and investigators say they have yet to determine the motive for the shooting.
The incident took place at 145 O’Neal Road in Trion, in a rental house occupied by a 26 year old female; afterwards, Long fled the residence, and was later found by a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office Deputy and taken into custody; Long reportedly gave a false name at the time of his arrest in an effort to escape punishment; that act led to his being charged with giving false information; the firearm possession charge was tacked on, because Long had a previous felony conviction that dated back to September 21st of 2012 in Cherokee County Circuit Court.
