Rome Teen Hit By Train

A teenager was killed early Sunday morning in Rome after he was hit by a train.

According to Rome City Police, a group of kids were crossing the railroad tracks on East Callahan St. around 12:30am Sunday morning.

Witnesses report that one of the teens did not make it across in time.

As the tracks were on private property, the railroad company will perform an investigation into the accident.

Deputy Coroner Ernie Studard has identified the victim as 16-year old Malik Cortez-Lidal Johnson.
