An arrest has been made in connection with the February 6th burglary of Fyffe Pharmacy.
According to Dekalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, investigators recovered evidence at the time of the burglary which indicated 2 or possibly 3 suspects were involved.
A piece of flesh was recovered inside the store as well as blood stains.
The evidence was sent to Alabama Department Forensics Science in Huntsville for analysis and a report was issued that indicated a suspect with prior criminal history was the source of the DNA.
Warrants were issued for 33-year old Carson Conrad Weldon of Flat Rock and he was picked up and booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center.
Weldon was charged with Probation Violation and Burglary 3rd.
Additional suspects are being interviewed and further arrests are expected in this case.
Evidence gathered at the scene was crucial in making this arrest.
Having a suspect with DNA in the state CODIS (Combined DNA Index System) system allowed authorities to save months in this case.
Weldon is being held without bond due to his probation revocation.
