Jessie Earline Whitten

Jessie Earline Whitten, age 94 of Centre, passed away Friday, May 3rd at Cherokee Health & Rehab.

Funeral services will be 11:AM Monday, May 6th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Eddie Nation and Rev. Melvyn Salter officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:PM Sunday.

Pallbearers include Devin Starkey, David Giles, Davett Starkey, Dason Starkey, Dave Whitten, Daniel Whitten, Mark Padgett, Steven Padgett and Cliff Holman.

Survivors include her son, David (Ruth) Whitten of Athens, AL; daughters, Gwen (Ronnie) Giles of Johnson City, TN, Daline (David) Starkey of Edgewater, FL and Rosa Lynn (Keith) Padget of Connelly Springs, NC; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Paul “DP” Whitten and grandson, Drew Whitten.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Centre First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Whitten was a native of White Bluff, TN, the daughter of the late Early Nathan and Loriane Argo Harris and was a member of Centre First Baptist Church.
