Ernie Willingham has been hired as the new football coach at Collinsville High School.
Willingham takes over for Alan Beckett. Beckett accepted the Athletic Director and Head Football coaching position at Winterboro in April.
Willingham previously coached Collinsville from 1998 through 2002. The Panthers reached the post season in all but his final year. In 1999, Willingham guided Collinsville to a 10-2 mark and a third round play-off appearance.
After Collinsville, Willingham spent seven seasons at Appalachian where the Eagles never failed to reach play-offs.
According to the Alabama High School Football Historical Society Willingham has a career coaching record of 82-54 in 12 seasons as a head coach.
