WLIA Holds 4th Annual “Groundwater Festival”

Water Festival - 2013 007Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre recently hosted the annual event sponsored by the Weiss Lake Improvement Association – the “Groundwater Festival” – which offers school students important information on keeping our water supply clean and safe.

Carolyn Landrem heads up the event and she helps to design the various programs and exercises that make the learning experience fun for the students.

This year’s t-shirt design winner was Abbi Hairrell; the Improvement Association mascot “Ruby Raindrop” was also on hand throughout the day.

Landrem is quick to point out that the festival is a team effort requiring input and assistance from many in the community.
