Local and state officials held dedication ceremonies Monday renaming portions of Highways 9 and 411 for three of Cherokee County’s most prominent citizens.

State Representative Richard Lindsey was on hand to read proclamations, signed by Governor Robert Bentley, designating Alabama Highway 9 from County Road 14 to County Road 128 the “W.A. Dub Ellis Jr. Highway” and Highway 411 from County Road 69 north to County Road 161 the “George and Tom Jordan Highway.”
