Afternoon thunderstorms brought more rain than drainage systems could handle in a short period of time. More than two inches was measured in Centre with some areas receiving more.
The Park Street area in Centre was flooded, an area along highway 9 south at Hardwood Drive was flooded, North River Street was flooded as well. Mayor Tony Wilkie and Councilman Glen Chandler were out observing the damage and where flooding was occurring.
