A Cedar Bluff man accused of killing a Chattooga County, Georgia man remains behind bars, for now at least.
According to the Summerville News, 21-year old Justin Lee Long has made his first appearance in Chattooga County Magistrate Court.
Because of the nature of the charges, the magistrate court could not set a bond.
Long will have to wait until a hearing before a superior court judge before he can seek bond.
The court has assigned Long a public defender.
Long is charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He allegedly shot John D. England once in the stomach with a .32 caliber pistol during an argument at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday off O’Neil Road in Trion.
According to reports, Long is a convicted felon and should not have been in possession of any firearms.
