Fox News Settles Sex Harassment Lawsuit with Former Anchor

Lou Rocco/ABC via Getty Images(NEW YORK) —  In a morning of rapid developments, 21st Century Fox has announced a settlement in a lawsuit filed by former Fox News presenter Gretchen Carlson.

The settlement is reportedly valued at $20 million, according to Vanity Fair, which first reported the news.

“I am gratified that 21st Century Fox took decisive action after I filed my complaint,” Carlson said in a joint statement.

Fox News’ parent company, 21st Century Fox, offered an apology in the joint statement, saying that “during her tenure at Fox News, Gretchen exhibited the highest standards of journalism and professionalism,” and that company officials, “sincerely regret and apologize for the fact that Gretchen was not treated with the respect and dignity that she and all of our colleagues deserve.”
