Attalla Police Department Recognizes Two Patrol Division Leaders

Attalla— The Attalla Police Department is recognizing two members of its Patrol Division for their leadership and service to the community.
Lieutenant Adam Cox, who has served with the department for six years, recently completed the RADAR/LIDAR Instructor Course. In this role, Cox will be responsible for training and certifying new officers in the proper use of speed detection equipment, helping ensure officers are prepared to keep local roadways safe.

Lieutenant Tyler Varnon, a four-year veteran of the department, was recently promoted to the rank of lieutenant. In addition to his leadership role, Varnon also serves as a K-9 handler alongside his partner, K-9 Sniper.

K-9 Sniper is trained in narcotics detection and tracking and assists officers in locating illegal drugs and helping track suspects during investigations.

Officials said the two officers represent the professionalism, leadership and dedication that help strengthen the Attalla Police Department while supporting the safety of the community.
