
CEDAR BLUFF, Ala– The Cedar Bluff Town Council covered a full agenda Monday night, highlighting public safety updates, approving several ordinances, and honoring fallen K-9 Draco.
Police reported more than 20,000 patrol miles and multiple arrests last month. Firefighters were thanked by Sunset Shores residents for their quick response to a November 28 apartment fire, along with a $500 donation.
Mayor Bill Warren delivered a tribute to K-9 Draco, who died December 4. Sgt. Jamie Chapman received a plaque recognizing Draco’s eight years of service.
The council also presented annual awards: Amanda Sprayberry was named Firefighter of the Year, Police Chief Jeremy Stepps was named Officer of the Year, and Jeanni Burt received Employee of the Year.
Members approved several ordinances, an annexation request, and a new financial review policy. One volunteer firefighter applicant was approved pending screening, and town employees will receive a one-time $300 bonus.
