Mr. Clarence Elmo Bates, 83 of Collinsville, passed away Monday, May 6 in the Cherokee Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Chapel with Revs. Michael Rogers and George Moses officiating. Burial will follow in the Collinsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3 P.M. Wednesday.

Survivors include his wife, Arene Reagan Bates; brothers, J.P Bates, Desert Hot Springs, CA, L.V. (Dorothy) Bates, Brookville, FL, James (Hazel) Bates, Collinsville, Roger Bates, Collinsville; sisters, Christina Bates, Collinsville, Joyce Acton, Griffin, GA, Joann (Glen) Bearden, Arab, Rosa Wilson, Collinsville; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Bates was a native of DeKalb County, the son of the late Alvis and Bessie Yarbrough Bates and was a retired farmer and mill worker.
